“I Thought I Was In Control” and “” bring to life Hattie Stewart’s 2D artworks, exhibited as part of the renowned illustrators EO3 exhibition that featured a mixed media of new works that visually unpack complex themes such as anxiety and sensory overload. As a longstanding collaborator with Hattie Stewart, including creating animations for Kylie Minogue’s tour and NatWest x Marcus Rashford commercial, these works gave way to exploring animation for Stewart’s iconic characters with a more art-driven approach and in a gallery context. The two animations aim to reinforce the artworks’ sense of emotional overload and anxiety.
